A Season for Second Chances
by Jenny Bayliss
What a Charming holiday read! I actually got this book last Christmas and forgot to read it. I’m so glad i got to pick it up this year. Annie a 40 something year old restaurant owner going through a midlife crises after she’s catches her husband cheating (AGAIN). Determined to leave him this time she escapes to a cute/quirky seaside town. She decides to get a short lease to house sit for a local , and reopen the cafe in the home. She meets some of the locals and falls so in love with them and the town. But She’s got to deal with the owner of the house’s grumpy overprotective nephew AND her groveling soon to be ex-husband all while trying to decide her next move.
Annie was such a relatable and delightful character. I enjoyed her character grown through the book. Her finding herself outside of being a mom and wife. It was such a cute cozy read, with a slow burn romance. No spice but honestly I’ve been enjoying the spice break I’ve been taking lately. I will soon be adding some more of this authors books to my tbr soon.
