3.5 stars. I want to be clear that I love this idea beyond words. It's so dumb and over the top that I can't help but love it! The story itself fell a bit behind what it could have been, sadly. Mainly that was because of the way women were treated in the books - it felt very typical for SciFi by male authors from the 70s/80s even though this was written in the 90s! While I can appreciate a healthy dose of biological SciFi trashiness, this was sometimes really pushing it for me. My love for the ridiculous general idea and the tag line ('Jurassic Shark') saved this book from a 2.5 star rating.
