The Butterfly's Daughter by Mary Alice Monroe

3.0

The audiobook was read by the author, which was wonderful. She was great at doing different voices for different characters.

There were some things that bothered me a little. The story could turn a tiny bit corny at times, and though most of the conversations were very realistic(she really did a great job reading those by the way!), sometimes characters could get into quite the monologue.

Now I did like the story. It was like a road-movie in book form. A coming-of-age story with lots of interesting characters coming in and out of the story as the main character travelled further and further. Also, there were lots of butterflies! And interesting facts about them too.

Anyway, this isn't my favorite book of all time, it's not the most beautifully written, deeply moving, life-altering book I've read, but it had heart and I enjoyed it. And it would make a great audiobook to take with you on your own road trip, or just on vacation!
