Across the Green Grass Fields by Seanan McGuire

4.0

Across the Green Grass Fields is the 6th book within the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire which usually tells the story of a child who goes through a magical door and ends up in a different world.

I find that all these novellas have a strong focus on the important of found family- however this one in particular was very moving. Regans entire story and background was so emotional with them being an intersex character and I found this to be very well realised.
McGuires consistent attempts to be inclusionary within this series is much appreciated.

Again I find McGuire has found her groove with the level of whimsy to include as the last 3 books have been amazing. McGuire really knows how to capture the innocence and naïveté of children, and knows how to balance this with the discussion of important social topics.

Fully of whimsy, mystical centaurs and unicorns, and with a really heartfelt message- I have really fallen in love with this series!!
