The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
5.0
5/5 stars

I finally finished this series and it only took one book before it was catapulted into my top three favourite series. This is singly handedly the most atmospheric book I have ever come across, it's mystic, creative and captivating.

It personally took me about three tries to get into [b:The Raven Boys|17675462|The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)|Maggie Stiefvater|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1477103737s/17675462.jpg|18970934], but once I connected with her writing style it brought something beautiful and magical to the series.
In this book we finally got all the answers that had been plaguing us through the previous three books, there was drama, excitement and sO MUCH CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. This book was everything I could have ever wished for, despite the fact it went in a completely different direction to my expectations.

There was also a new character introduced into the core group during this book, which I was already aware would happen before I started this book (curse tumblr spoilers lol), and surprisingly I ended up loving the extra dimension 'said character' brought this book. They were an interesting and clever character that seamlessly slipped into the group.
I'm not going to delve into any of specifics of this book as it is conclusion and I would hate to spoil anybody, so this review is brief and very gushy, but honestly is anybody surprised at this point? I ADORE this series, and I'm sure there will be many rereads in my future.
I'm adding VERY spoilery quotes that made my heart gush so DON'T OPEN THIS SECTION UNLESS you're cool with that. SPOILERY SPOILERS. this is not a drill. (now nobody come and bitch to me that I shouldn't add spoilers in my review anyway).

"And then I hope you will choose to trust me. Because I'm overfull on secrets and underfed on friends."

'He was pretty sure he had just been Ronan's first kiss.'
'Gwenllian paused in the hallway. "Demon's coming! Everyone dies. Except for her useless father. He'll live forever."
'"Goodbye," Noah said, "Don't throw it away." He quietly slid from time.'
goddman. arrow to the heart. tears. pain. depthless hopelessness.
