I love Chicagoland Vampires so I had high hopes for a dystopian series by her. I liked this first book okay enough to read more and think it's a promising start. My lower rating could be because I just finished the Chicagoland Vampires series this month, too, so I couldn't help comparing them.

I love the setting, and the world building is really cool. As much as I like the enemies to lovers that is Chicagoland Vampires, I like that the relationship in this series doesn't start off that way.
