The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell

Well. That was unexpected. I believe that this book was recommended on one of the few book or sci-fi sub-Reddits I frequent. Jesuits in space seemed like an interesting premise on its face and the book started about how I would’ve expected. But then it changed and then I couldn’t stop reading the book. The last couple hundred pages was like a boulder tumbling downhill - gaining speed and not stopping until there was nowhere left to go. Such a surprisingly great book; enough so that I’ll grab the next book in the series.
