A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske

5.0

i usually go on and on about how romantasy is drowning out the genre of fantasy and reducing it to porn with elves and the occasional occurrence of a dragon, zero plot, but this book proves that it can be done right. the magic was original, the plot captivating enough (though not terribly complex) and there was still plenty of room for the romance to develop and be ... enjoyed ... ((STEAMY !!)) which brings me to my next point:
i tend to be a bit of a prude when and dont enjoy having to read too detailed descriptions of sex bc quite frankly it grosses me out but: well done! this was not unbearable. they have chemistry!! i like them a lot!! theyre allowed to fuck for 4 pages straight!! ..anyways i was so rooting for them to get to be together, i have a soft spot for their dynamic, anxious little edwin i love youuuu unproblematic king and sunshine boy robin i love you as wellllll now go love each other go be happy my darlings

im not unhappy at all with where we left things and i do actually want read the sequel for once !!
