[REVIEW FOR WHOLE SERIES]

I absolutely adored this series! All three books were fast-paced and I was unable to put them down. This series has quickly become one of my favourites and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy and especially to anyone who loves witches.

The covers of my copies (attached) aren’t my favourite covers by far, though the fact that they all fit together to make one picture is cool. The other covers look absolutely amazing and I’m half-tempted to buy them all (I won’t though because I have at least a little restraint).

There was such an amazing, diverse and large cast of characters who each brought a different opinion and worldview. I loved that despite there being quite a few characters they each had their own personality and weren’t forgotten (this was especially great considering the fact that there were sometimes two of the same character). Lily really grew as a character throughout the books and became a strong woman, she made hard choices very selflessly and this led to her being a character that I could really appreciate. In terms of antagonists, the book had a few and they changed as the series went on and new information was discovered which kept the books interesting.

The series also had a unique take on magic which I found really interesting, it isn’t something I’ve seen before and the system was very well thought out. I liked the scientific element to it as well – that it all wasn’t random and unexplained.

To conclude, I am very glad that I picked this series up and I enjoyed it immensely. Feel free to leave a comment below or add me as I’m always looking for more opinions and recommendations (and friends, always friends).
