My Demon Hunter
by Aurora Ascher
I just finished My Demon Hunter by Aurora Ascher, and while I liked it, it didn’t capture me quite the same way as books one and three. I’m not sure why, but it just didn’t stand out as much. Still, Aurora’s writing is just as fast-moving and vivid as ever, with scenes that feel alive and dialogue that flows naturally.
This story follows Mist, a relentless demon hunter who’s made it his life’s work to track and destroy the creatures that threaten their world. But when a mission puts him face-to-face with Lilly—a powerful witch and the sister of Iris from book three—everything changes. The two are thrown together against an enemy neither of them can fight alone, navigating cursed places, dangerous magic, and a growing connection that neither of them planned for. As secrets surface, Mist has to decide what matters more: the hunt he’s sworn to or the witch he can’t walk away from.
Even if it wasn’t my personal favorite in the series, it’s still an exciting, high-stakes read that expands the world and adds depth to characters we’ve met before. If you’re reading through the series, this one is an important and entertaining piece of the larger puzzle.
