Every Sweet Thing Is Bitter

A tragic story with a perfect title. I really do not think there could be a more bittersweet ending to this story. There are so many brutal realities faced by so many people in this story, and so many people that I want to hate for their different decisions that ultimately led to the different outcomes. It is hard to reconcile the decisions made with the very realistic societal triggers that led to those decisions. This book touches, at least minimally, on just about every uncomfortable topic you could think of. But it does it so well. Worth the read, but definitely check the triggers.
