The 6 Types of Working Genius
by Patrick Lencioni
Rating on the book: It was puzzling why the author chose to spend 3/4ths of the book on a "fable" about the model, instead of his actual experience coming up with it and the details about how it works. You don't get much time to read about the model in-depth. I also would have appreciated more real life examples of people's experiences using the Working Geniuses in their companies/day-to-day lives, which he only threw out briefly at the end, but were all interesting.
Rating on the model: We took this assessment at my work, and I thought one of my "geniuses" was highly accurate, but the others were in a questionable order....I think the assessment questionnaire needs to be more extensive to better capture people's strengths and weaknesses. It was insightful for figuring out how we operate as a team however, and why certain team members work the way that they do. TBD if we will think about it long-term.
