Yes, it took a year to read this book because I had to return it twice to the library because of other holds.
She upturns many of the underlying models of classical economics, making a fairly strong argument that they are overly simplistic and haven't really worked. She challenges us to consider an alternate model, the doughnut, with an inner ring emphasizing the social foundation (food, housing, education) and the outer ring reflecting ecological constraints. Her 7 ways are - change the goal away from only GDP, see the big picture, reflect human nature, consider systems not 2d diagrams, design to distribute, design to regenerate, and be agnostic about growth.
Having completed a smattering economics classes, I appreciated her discussion of just how things went awry (too much emphasis on monetary value) and more inclusion of all impacts/recognition of constraints.
