Ghost Radio by Leopoldo Gout
- Plot- or character-driven? Plot
- Strong character development? It's complicated
4.25
I have given this book a 4.25 because after trying to read on two occasions I decided on recommendation to listen to the audiobook as it's a story written about a radio show. I have to say truly, the story comes across so much more comprehensively in this format and I really highly recommend the audiobook for this book. The way that the narrator (who just to add a little more interest is Pedro Pascal) puts the story across. He puts a little uniqueness of character into every person who calls in, every person in the story, it's just really impressive and interesting.
I did find a pacing a little slow and I think that's why I struggled with reading it as well. There's lots of jumping around in different time periods as well as the intermittent stories from the radio show that are being told in between chapters from time to time. I didn't always understand which was which, thought that is all my certainly from my own reading comprehension but certainly listening to the audiobook helped with this. All in all are really unique take the ghost story anthology format with an underlying message about a friendship and a love story.
If you like audiobooks, I really recommend this.
