Ali Hazelwood’s summer romance novel was a refreshing twist on her usual novels. People in STEM are still the main characters, but rather than the main, non-sexual tension being related to the FMC’s career struggles wrt the MMC, Maya’s career worries take a backseat to her and Connor’s sexual tension and relationship issues.
The beautifully described Sicilian setting makes me wish I had a man with extreme generational wealth and access to endless beautiful villas in coastal Italy. I adored Maya’s weirdness and snark, and well as her female friendship moments (both new and established).
Overall, a great summer romance novel that I expect myself to re-read next summer.
