Just beautiful.  I could not put this down from the first page.  Other reviews note content warnings, which made me hesitant, but I did not find the inclusion of these themes to be in any way gratuitous.  A touch repetitive in their descriptions, but not enough to ruin the story.  The story held a delicate balance between hope and despair, death and life, and violence and healing, all with an undercurrent of family mystery and magic. At its heart, it’s a story of the power of women across the generations and into the future, and I wish I could read it for the first time again!
