Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh
2.0
Otessa is a sickenly good writer. Many of the events are out of my comfort zone. Sometimes i went to bed and was unable to sleep bc of how disgusting a chapter was.
Yet, i couldn't stop.
She shines a microscope on a degeneracy of men, the mass poverty inherent to a fiefdom, the dirt, grime, sickness, and violence of it all. Nothing is off the table.
Then, the part with pedophilia and rape came, and i could no longer say that i truly enjoyed this tale.
