Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.

i skimmed through the rest of the book and was so fucking glad i did not spend hours reading this whole thing. so dragging and unsatisfying - felt like i was being Made to feel certain ways at points of the book when i wasn’t emotionally moved at all. i don’t feel like addie is particularly compelling or interesting, nor are any of the other characters.

i’m usually very down for a “otherworldly guy falls for human girl” type romance but i was particularly annoyed with luc, who feels like a youth’s underdeveloped idea of a tumblr sexyman, which is all well and good in concept but less good when it’s in long form fiction. he just says fancy things that a more forgiving reader would call “poetic” but i would call “what the hell, man.” am i just supposed to believe he loves her? girl
