Nikki and Dex both carry deep trauma, hiding their pain behind humor and avoiding commitment at all costs. They thought they could keep things friendly, but their connection was undeniable much more intense than any of their previous encounters. As Nikki’s past resurfaces to haunt her, Dex steps up to protect her, but the real question is: will she let him in?

I didn’t want this series to end! Each book is built around a strong FMC, and this third installment is no different. Nikki fights to stay strong, even if some of her choices had me shaking my head (in a good way, lol). Dex, the heartbroken guy hiding behind the “funny friend” persona, finally meets his match in Nikki. While he helps her break down her walls, he starts to do the same, and you can’t help but love him for it!

Without giving too much away, I have to say I adored the life lessons sprinkled throughout the story and the hilarious bromance between Dex and Roberto those two definitely kept me laughing! If you’re into dark romance, MC romance, or mafia romance, this series is a must-read!
