Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera

4.0

I enjoyed the book but I could tell that the book was written by an art historian rather than a biography. A good biograhpher tells us what makes the person significant and worthy of biography. I kept wondering if people would be interest in Frida Kahlo if she were not Diego Rievera's wife. There is a lot of criticism of her painting written from the point of view of an art critic but I was left wondering what her overall contribution was to the art world.
