5.0
challenging emotional inspiring mysterious reflective slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

AI Robot companions for kids. Real imaginary friends. Klara is observant and becoming empathetic- love when protagonist can show the reader a new world. Love the newness of exploring and explaining emotions. Relationships. Evolving while just watching through a window. Like Plato’s Cave. Love the parallel.
Damn. So powerful. The sun and its special warmth. It can do beautiful things. The reason for all seasons. The reason for Klara’s advancement. For humanity’s advancement. AI’s recognition of an individual’s uniqueness, soul. The people who love you recognize that. Religion. Superstition. Luck. All play a part. Ending was heartbreaking and mechanical.
Everything so brilliantly subtle and slow.
