This hadn’t been in my radar at all but was ultimately very charming with depth.
Don is a smart genetics professor who is rooted in his routine. Wanting to find a partner, he designs a questionnaire to help him find his ideal wife. But science couldn’t predict that he would be drawn to Rosie, who the questionnaire says is completely unsuitable for him. The pair become friends despite their differences and both develop feelings even though they are so different. Could they ever work?
Don is neurodivergent but the author is not - but he based his lead off those he knows that are. He wrote the screenplay for this first, then adapted it into a novel. I really rooted for Don and Rosie but I found some of the secondary plot lines a little unnecessary and took too long to develop. But this was cute and I definitely will check out the rest of the trilogy at some point!
✨Content Warnings: Body Shaming, Misogyny, Death of a Parent, Infidelity, Suicide, Grief, Dementia
✨Themes: Societal Expectations, Love, Neurodivergence
