These are very formulaic. To such an extent, that you can use this quote meant to summarize book 2 to describe book 3, and it sounds like it’s going to describe book 4 too. (And if you modify what’s being referred to here as a “relationship”, it works to summarize book 1 as well.)

“Solve the crime or fix the relationship—Cooper Dayton can’t seem to do both”

On top of that, I’m not convinced that Cooper and Oliver were needed at all to solve this mystery. I think this would have been much better if told from the point of view of one of the side characters.

On top of that, there’s plot holes that I’m super confused by. I’m not sure I’ll continue this series.
