How to Do the Work: Recognize Your Patterns, Heal from Your Past, and Create Your Self by Nicole LePera

4.0

I really enjoyed the chapter on boundaries (was ca in 70-80% on the audio book). I have gone thought the same steps successfully and know what the author is talking about - and have not hear better somewhere else in hundreds of books. The person who has to set the boundaries in his/her life is usually not strong enough to set/keep them, so just like the author, often it's necessary to cut ties with all family member - so in a few years they will realize that You need to live in the new way. After that they will accept, and all is for the better. But it is really hard in the beginning - You are labeled a selfish bastard and it will hurt a lot. But just like the author told - yes it is painful, but it is a whole more painful having your boundaries violated for the rest of Your life. "A boundary is not for other people, It is for You!".

But the rest of the book did not speak to me. Heard all before, nothing new. Too scientific for me. But I understand that for many people the science is an important link to believe the claims.

And I have to add - the author is still fu**ed up. We all are, but I myself are looking for authors that are a little more enlightened :D Eckhart Tolle etc. Authors that did most of the healing 10+ years ago, not a year ago and still on the process.
