I enjoyed the writing style of this one, but I do wish we got some more horror vibes throughout. The vibes that definitely reminded me of Jane Eyre worked REALLY great here though! I liked the cast of characters here, but I unfortunately was kind of so-so on the romance between Theodora and Lord Thorne, mostly because I didn't quite enjoy the pacing of that.
What REALLY worked for me was the main plot twist though. That actually surprised me, and I hadn't been super surprised like that in a while.
