I remember when I first read this book (maybe 8th grade?) I took one look at the first few chapters and put it down for months, unable to get through the beginning. However, this series is now one of my favorites that I always find myself going back to! Past the first chapters I once found boring, I found a great love for the story inside. I definitely recommend this to young-adult fiction readers as a well-written folktale novel fun for those looking for a little magic.
