Good Girl Deprogramming: Unleash The Rebel Within by Michelle Minnikin

Oh my gosh. Wow. Everyone needs to read this book.  I don't actually know what to say.

I have realised that I've been unconsciously "Deprogramming" myself for a few years now. I became sick of never speaking my mind, never challenging other people, especially when I know that I know more about something than they do. I'm not saying people can't have their own opinions, but I became sick of people 'mansplaining' topic that I am well educated on. Sick of being told "well if you just xyz, then you wouldn't be single." Newsflash. I'm single because I want to be thank you very much.

Despite that, I still feel like I need to apologise for being me. For having an opinion. For being "moody" and "difficult."

This book has cemented in me that I don't need to do that. I'm allowed to be me. I'm allowed a voice. Even if men (and other women) don't like it.

I'm not sure that's so much a review as a rant. But hey. I'm not a good girl. I'm saying what I think 🤣
