Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan

4.0

Daughter of the Deep, like Riordan's other books that I've read and loved, got me diving into a whole new adventure. I love the fact that he based it on Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I stopped reading that classic almost halfway as it was mostly full of info-dumping, but even so, I still could catch the references in Uncle Rick's book. It was also mentioned somewhere that there's a sequel for the classic story. Which makes me think.... Maybe I should pick up where I left off 20,000 Leagues.

Overall, the book was great, but the middle-ish felt like it was dragged a bit too long and the ending didn't deliver with as much impact as I thought it would. Still loved everything else though.
