One Last Try by Jemma Croft

5.0

My god, this book was SO sweet! It was super low angst, and had me stifling my laughter late at night trying not to wake up the house. I'm not a person who knows anything about rugby, but I still was able to really enjoy it. I didn't feel too lost during the parts of the book that were focused on game play, which I think speaks a lot to Jemma's writing; I didn't know the terms but I still felt like I knew what was going on. Owen and Mathias were such a cozy couple too read. They treated each other with such sweetness and care throughout the whole story. And the side characters! My god, I loved them all. Owen's daughters, the pub patrons, Mathias's teammates and coach... and of course, Lando. His antics had me rolling; his timing was just THE WORST and that made the obnoxious things he did so much funnier. Honestly, this book had me laughing the whole way through. And swooning, especially at the end. There was a bit of spice in here, but not too much. The spicy bits were 🥵spicy🥵 though! If you're a romance reader who loves rugby, or who just loves some slutty little shorts, thick thighs, and warm fuzzy feelings, you should definitely pick up this book!
