Wildwood Dancing
by Juliet Marillier
Wildwood Dancing is a really, really good story that is held back from reaching its full potential by some very unfortunate pacing. The beginning is bogged down by lots of exposition, and Jena's confrontations with Cezar are repeated over and over. Marillier did some great things with the fairy tales she wove together, and I have to admit I didn't see the twist coming until a good two-thirds through the book, but it could have been much more streamlined.
