Ashes to Ashes by Stacey Willis

If I could give this a thousand stars, I most definitely would! I have a really soft spot for the ‘eternal lovers bound to meet in every life and then something tragic happening to them’ trope and oh my did this one not disappoint!

From Alexander hunting for clues about what was going on in Pine Creek while also trying to hide from the town’s citizens because of what they had done to them in the past to Shane’s mysterious yet hilarious personality, this book is perfect for anyone who loves paranormal romances.

One of the things I really enjoyed was that after a while, both characters stepped out of what was normal for the main characters and decided that they were going to do whatever they could for themselves and not the world. It was something that I hadn’t seen a lot in books, something fresh and new that made this whole experience better than I could ever imagine.

The author made sure that we could see this story unfold from three different POVs (Alexander, Shane and Louise) and understand everything that was going on from almost every angle. In my opinion, it was a medium-burn romance that had me kicking my feet and laughing almost all the time the characters interacted while also holding my breath while they were trying to solve the mystery.

I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who loves a forbidden romance. This is probably my favourite book of the year!

I would also like to thank the author for giving me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
