Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People about Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge

4.0

I did not know this was somewhat UK specific when I picked it up (and a lot of the later chapters are not, but it starts out with a lot of UK history). The history in the UK was not surprising to me but like the US not ok that it persists.

Reparations have to be real, not gaslighting, for us to ever start to heal.

Lots of information, good facts, good surveys. I think the best discussion of white feminism versus intersectional feminism that I have seen ETA: OUTSIDE OF SISTER OUTSIDER. I can’t believe I forgot about Sister Outsider for a second. Talking to white people about race is the worst, I say as a white person myself. But maybe if we white people do more of it, Reni Eddo-Lodge won’t have to.
