American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Martin J. Sherwin, Kai Bird

challenging emotional informative reflective slow-paced

I confess I was dreading this, and had left it to last in my pile of Adapted Screenplay nominee sources because of its size. And whilst yes it was a lengthy journey to get through it reading only a chapter or so a night, and with a smaller book sandwiched in the middle, I enjoyed it quite a lot. More heart and emotion than the film, and a lot more depth. Much less Strauss too.
