Take My Name by Brooke Montgomery
4.0

Take My Name is the first book in the Willow Branch Mountain series, following Maisie and Warren. Sweet Home Alabama is one of my favorite movies from the 2000s, and this book gave me all the nostalgic vibes. I couldn't get enough of these characters and their super sweet second chance romance.

Maisie is the only woman Warren has ever loved. They were best friends growing up, fell in love as teenagers, and got married. After college, Maisie moved to New York to pursue her career while Warren stayed behind on his family's ranch. Although they haven't seen each other in seven years, they never officially got divorced. Now, Maisie is engaged to someone else and is back in Willow Branch Mountain to finally get Warren to sign the divorce papers. Warren has never stopped loving Maisie and believes they still belong together. Signing the divorce papers is the last thing he wants to do, so he offers her a deal. Seven days and seven dates so he can show her how great they can be together. If she still wants the divorce after that, he’ll sign the papers.

Maisie and Warren completely stole my heart. The two of them were perfect together. Their chemistry was sizzling, and I loved their banter. Warren is the perfect grumpy cowboy who would do anything to show Maisie they were meant to be. He was patient for seven years and never gave up on Maisie. This man built her dream house, including a big library! I mean, c'mon! The way he loved Maisie made me melt. Watching Maisie slowly fall back in love with Warren was so satisfying. I loved that Warren never rushed Maisie and continued to show how much he cared while giving her time to work out her feelings. Maisie and Warren's journey back to each other was full of love, heartbreak, forgiveness, and growth. They both made mistakes, but those mistakes made them stronger, and I couldn't help but root for them. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for what comes next in this series.

Narration:
Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow performed this audiobook in duet. I loved them as Maisie and Warren, and felt their voices were perfectly suited for these amazing characters. Savannah and Aiden did a wonderful job making the characters feel real and bringing them to life. They brought the banter, chemistry, and all the emotions associated with Maisie and Warren's complicated but sweet journey back to love. Savannah and Aiden were the perfect narrating duo and delivered an amazing listening experience.
