The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
5.0

I don't watch Big Bang Theory often (eventually, I want to watch the whole series), but when do, I really enjoy Sheldon Cooper. I think the comparison between Don Tillman & Sheldon is pretty accurate, except that instead of this:

Don looks like this:

...with bad hair & glasses...and also washboard abs under his terrible clothes.

Don might be one of my favorite literary characters of the year. While he's completely oblivious to some things, he's extremely self-aware in others. He struggles to balance maintaining his individuality with conforming enough to make his own life and others' lives easier. He's written humorously, but still has some depth. All the main characters are well-rounded, not just caricatures.

The type of humor is similar to [b:Where'd You Go, Bernadette|13526165|Where'd You Go, Bernadette|Maria Semple|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1338822317s/13526165.jpg|17626728] and I think would appeal to the same type of reader.

Warning: There's an element of Rom-Com here, which some readers might find too cutesy.

After second reading: Just a little more than a year later, I still adore this book and am looking forward to reading more about Don & Rosie. (
