Small Pleasures by Clare Chambers
5.0

Absolute delight to read this book . I felt quite inseparable with this book , it felt so close to one’s own reality . The book was quite brilliant because it had it all suspense , mystery , virtue , love , passion , science and some theology .I don’t think I have read a book that so effectively treaded on all these subjects in just over 300 pages .
I loved how science and religious belief’s were paired against each other .
Although in my thought process a virgin birth was never going to be a repeated miracle like other miracles like healing and deliverance , it was to signify the intervention of God for the birth of Jesus and every other birth for mortals was by human efforts .
Some of the lines were so ridiculously funny especially Jean’s elaboration of her thought process while on a chair with amputated legs made me crack up so hard .
