The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
5.0
Wharton’s exceptional vocabulary and prose carry this timeless story. She set the foundation for complex, meaningful social dynamics, and her influence can still be felt today (gossip girl is just AOI set in the 2000s?) The denouement remains perfectly heartbreaking. Despite over 100 years since its Pulitzer win… the commentary rings just as clearly today. Will revisit!
