Fucking devastating. 550 pages flew by, incredibly easy to read even though it was filled with words I've never heard of before. The most absurd thing I've ever read, and yet it mirrored our current reality- this is how the world feels. People act with the wildest possible ways and you are punished if you don't go along with it, only to later still be punished. It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. The first half was hysterical, but the looming darkness eventually caught up with us and felt heavier still due to the contrast. I absolutely fell in love with Major Major and the chaplain, and to a lesser extent poor Nately. It all broke my heart, it really did. Yossarian lives on.
