Wicked Designs by Lauren Smith

5.0

Ashton Lennox is trying to undermine someone’s livelihood. He’s a very determined man. Rosalind Melbourne is a woman who’s trying to make it in a man’s world. She has personal experience in trying to break the glass ceiling. If I could go back in time, I’d like to think that Rosalind would be there somewhere. I’d also like to think that she would be impressed with the women of today.

Our author gives her readers a side story between Jonathan St. Laurent and Audrey Sheridan. Got to love a book where you get two stories for the price of one. On top of the stories of our couples, the author adds in a little mystery and intrigue. This just adds another level to your enjoyment. Ms. Smith also discloses some of Rosalind’s past that affects her future.

Even though there are a few stories going on, you will find it easy to follow and the scenes just flow one to the other. You could read this as a stand-alone but by the time you finish this latest in the League of Rogues series you may find the need to go back and check out the other books that have come out so far – the author includes several chapters of the first book to tease your senses. Plus the author gives you a happy ending but it also lets you know that the villain may not be done yet – just one more incentive to keep reading this series. Historicals have changed over the years. They can be just as sexy as any of the other books that fall under the romance umbrella. And adding in some mystery and suspense is just icing on the cake.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
