A very picturesque book with a wonderful setting and a story that, while slightly meandering at times, is fascinating to explore. The descriptions of Lyntons and of the food and the location were all so wonderful that I could not only see it in my head but taste it and feel it too.
I also really liked the character of Frances. She was very realistically written and though she was made out to be a pragmatic person you could totally understand why she did the things she did.
