I am sorry for having previously said that German literature was too reasonable and logical for my liking--Demian was wonderfully mystic, unabashedly weird, and not at all reasonable. Definitely spoke to me at my present moment in time, which I would call a coincidence, but Sinclair would say of chance, "I believe there is no such thing. When a person urgently needs something and finds what he requires, it is not chance that gives him it, it is himself, his own craving and urgency that bring it to him."
