This is, dare I say, better than Ninth House, which is what you should expect from a sequel. It honestly topped the first book for me, and I am so excited for the next one. I ate this up in 3 days and couldn't put it down once I got to Part 2. You get more and more information as to how Lethe as an institution is this capitalist patriarchal evil mess, you learn more about characters who were relatively insignificant like Tripp. I also think Bardugo did an amazing job with Tripp and Turner's background stories. Also the lust between Alex and Darlington truly satisfied me after almost a year and a half of wanting MORE between them. I hope the third book really delivers on at least a HUG, but I'll take flirty banter any day.
