I didn’t know when I started reading this book that it was a Christian book. Its been on my shelf for a very long time. Luckily I picked it out to finally read. I won’t give a summary but just share my feelings about this one. I fell in love with Miss Ella. You really get a sense of how strong and loving she was. The story is told mostly in flashbacks which I sometimes can find confusing. But not the way this author wrote it. It was easy to follow and imagine for me. My heart broke for the 2 brothers and all they went through. Even poor Miss Ella wasn’t spared from the hands of an abuser. Yet Hearing how her Faith gave her strength was uplifting and sometimes her comments were comical (in a good way)! I’d sometimes find myself giggling. The ending was happy and showed the healing power of forgiveness.
