I Need You to Read This is a thoughtfully intricate mystery surrounding the unsolved murder of a famed NY advice columnist and her unlikely successor.
I liked the depth of the story and all the different ways the pieces and people of it were connected. But this definitely had more of a murder mystery/whodunnit feel than thriller vibes. The main “twist” was very obvious from the start, and it made the story feel somewhat anticlimactic. There were additional, smaller twists that I didn’t see coming though, which was a nice surprise.
Overall, I just left this book feeling like something was missing. All the parts to a good story were there, but the way they all fit together just never quite fully captured my attention or made me really invested. I think I would be willing to give something else by this author a try, but this just wasn’t my fav. 😕
