eishe 's review for:
The Kinder Poison
by Natalie Mae
Loved the premise, but it fell a bit short on the execution for me.
I really liked the magic system, the premise and the whole setting. The story itself was okay, but it felt rushed - some actioney bits could have been more fleshed out and impactful, there could have been more development of the love triangle, because overall it felt like 1-2-things-happen. It also suffered quite a lot from telling instead of showing. But the moments when characters' motivations showed through were quite likeable.
I will probably read the remaining trilogy, because I'm just interested in how everything will unfurl.
