I really loved this volume. The Great Hall of Witches is so cool. I am a sucker for underwater cities. Beldaruit is a great character. I love how quirky he is and how he still has a sense of wonder about him with Magic when many of the other adults we meet seem not to anymore. 

The cliffhanger doesn't much feel like a cliffhanger, because Coco has an attachment to the other apprentices and I can't imagine her leaving them. But overall I loved this.
