Escaping Reality
by Lisa Renee Jones
3.5 stars
This is a book I would place in the “didn’t love it,” “didn’t hate it” category. I constantly guessed the motives of all the characters, which is something I look for in a good romantic suspense. However, the story meanders and I was frequently confused.
Amy finds herself assuming a new identity and running away from unknown enemies. On a plane headed to her new life in Denver, she meets Liam, a dashing billionaire architect. The two fall victim to the dreaded insta-lust. There’s good chemistry between them but Liam rapidly goes from being attracted to Amy to wanting her to have his baby. I had a hard time believing Liam would fall so hard, so fast for Amy, especially given that she reveals virtually nothing about herself (real or fictional).
The story has more questions than answers and it ends on quite a cliffhanger. I’m curious enough to read the next book.
