Break No Bones by Kathy Reichs
3.0

I liked it, I really did. It wasn't the most spectacular novel I've ever read, and nor was it almost that. But I liked the plot and Tempe's attitude, and her interaction with Emma (sob) and yeah, it did bring tears to my eyes at one point. That tells me that this writer did her job right. ;) I could also emphathise with Tempe's struggle with her ex-hubby and so on.

The crime part of the story itself was interesting and did keep me guessing. Funny how one little aspect of a criminal's career can trip him up & bring his evil little world down around his feet.

So yeah, read my first Kathy Reichs and enjoyed it. I'd read more. But it's not the kind of book I'm going to rush out to buy more of. It's the kind of book I'll keep in mind for someday when I'm all out of other ideas.

Oh, and this book WAS brand new, but then it got caught in a torrential downpour along with its owner, and we both got soaked to the skin. The book took longer to dry out than I did, but it seems to be almost there now (over a week later).
