The premise of this book was so interesting & unique! I really felt emotionally connected to the wife, Olivia, and reading the author’s note at the end and seeing that the fertility problems she was facing in real life influenced this story was really heartbreaking.

What would you do if you were having miscarriage after miscarriage, just to find out that your husband has a son, and that son is a suspect in a murder case?

Every chapter was an alternating POV and these POVs were all unique. There was the wife, the husband, the detectives, the mother, the daughter, the brother, and the murderer. This made for a compulsive read and the audiobook was perfectly narrated by Julia Whelan. This book kept me hooked from beginning to end and I was obsessed with the story. I just HAD to binge this!

However, I felt like there was a lot of missed opportunities here, and that the killer was revealed a little too early. I would have liked to have been left in the dark a little bit longer, and the ending was anti-climactic after all of that build up. I made a few predictions, one was accurate, but the rest were unsatisfying. I didn’t particularly love the last twist & the ending annoyed me.
