Mama: A Queer Black Woman's Story of a Family Lost and Found by Nikkya Hargrove

dark emotional hopeful inspiring tense medium-paced

4.0

This memoir tells the story of a young Black woman who takes on the role of a parent when she decides to fight for custody of her baby half-brother. Hargrove talks about her life growing up, about the obstacles she had to overcome but also about everyone who loved and supported her when she needed them. It is a beautiful story and I am inspired by her courage, determination, and optimism.
